Why is my print edition filled with italics in KDP’s Previewer?

When you view your print edition in KDP’s Previewer, you may find that it looks different from what you saw in Vellum’s preview. For example, text may appear italicized throughout:

This can happen if you accidentally upload an EPUB file instead of a PDF. To resolve this issue, upload the print PDF generated by Vellum instead:

After you upload your PDF, the book in KDP’s Previewer should appear exactly as it did in Vellum:
